Storyboard Template

In the last post about storyboarding I talked about how important it is and how much time that it can save you. Before I had made this template I looked around the internet and didn't really find anything simple.

There are expensive programs that have drag and drop objects that you can put into little frames and there are many more unlimited options that you can pay for.

Why Storyboard?

Storyboards are something we all know of but are not something that we really know about. Storyboarding is when you break down your film shot by shot in frames drawn or composed that represent how you want those shots to look like in your final product. They look a lot like a comic book really. Well, not mine. Mine look like my 4 year old could have drawn them and I think that is why I never did them until this past year. Even if you're the only one that can understand them they can benefit by helping you premeditate on the way you want to shoot something. In many ways this can help you determine the kind of place you want to shoot and see how the scene will take place in different settings.

The Magic of Film

This video is something that I put together last summer. I went on a fishing trip with my Grandad and cousin, Travis to Isabel Lake in Rye, Colorado. I didn't plan on filming, but there is something special about moments like these. There is something about film that seperates it from any other media.

Pueblo 24 Hour Film Festival 2011

 

This festival marked a year of film festivals for Sparks Bros Media. We have had some great films but this one was the biggest.  By biggest I mean it had the most moving parts. When your walking around a set for a film that is supposed to be finished in 24 hours (that's shot, edited, and submitted) and you see 5 make-up artists including my wife Chrissy, Channelle Stewart, Ashley Burke, Matt Rivera, and Vincente Martinez Ortega doing body art, go-go dancer Toxiic, from Toxiic Inc.
